Mondays and Wednesdays 7-9 p.m.

  • Classes are taught by a staff artist.

  • All materials are included

Cost $75.00

please note, shoes may become a little wet, dress appropriately
Each session will consist of two classes and will cover-
  • basic western (mould and deckle)
  • eastern (screen drying)
  • dimensional mold casting
  • papermaking techniques

Other topics covered-

  • Pulp making
  • inclusions
  • drying and pressing
  • creating finished, functional products

  • processing and hydrating pulp
  • making a mould and deckle for Western style papermaking (you can keep moulde and deckle for future use)
  • using a mould and deckle to cast personal stationary
  • discover inclusions- putting "stuff" in your paper
  • drying techniques
  • Eastern or Nepalese screen casting
  • if time permits- basic dimensional casting - the art of hand casting paper into a bas relief mould
Class Two:
  • separating and pressing dried sheets
  • creating usable products with cast paper such as:  stationery,   personal journal/book, luminary, decorative art with dimensional casting
